Want to get up close and personal with a glacier? We chose to do this hike for the main reason that there aren’t many places you can find yourself closer to a glacier without any technical gear. Glaciers are cool (literally!) for so many reasons and the Coleman Glacier on this blue sky day was a stunning beauty.
You will need a Northwest Forest Pass or and America the Beautiful Pass for this 5.5 mile (roundtrip) hike that takes you glacier side on Mount Baker through wooded forests, across MANY rushing creeks and along beautiful wildflower filled meadows. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR??
We highly recommend going late July when the flowers are in peak bloom and bring your waterproof boots as this hike can be a wet one when the creeks get flowing. Dogs are allowed but bringing yours might make the creek crossings on deep days a little bit more precarious – just be prepared!
We feel so blessed to have been able to enjoy this hike up to Mt. Baker among wildflowers, furry friends and family!
